Marron Farm and WineryAndermel Marron, Two Wheeler Creek Wines and The Marron CaféAndermel farm the large and succulent fresh water crayfish known as marron. Visitors can see the marron up close in the holding shed with their life cycle and the operational aspects of a modern marron farm also presented in an interesting and educational way. The best bit follows with their destination being the tables of the Marron Café or distribution outlets to restaurants and cafes on the mainland. The Two Wheeler Creek Wines vineyard has traditional varieties with cabernet sauvignon and shiraz reds being planted in 1999 and the chardonnay and sauvignon blanc whites planted in 2003. There are approximately 1.6 Ha (4 ac) of cabernet, 3.2 Ha (8 ac ) of shiraz, 1.8 Ha (4.5 ac) of chardonnay and 1.4 Ha (3.5 ac) of sauvignon blanc. |
